Run for the 2022-23 PSP Executive Board
Pacifica Spindrift Players invites members of the community interested in joining the theater’s leadership team to run for a position on the PSP Executive Board of Directors.
PSP is looking for dedicated and dynamic individuals who would like to be a part of our journey into the future. We are particularly hoping to hear from individuals from diverse communities and identities who can help make PSP’s leadership more representative and inclusive. We welcome people from all backgrounds and experience levels.
About Joining the Board:
PSP is a fully volunteer-led organization, so we depend on generous individuals like yourself to keep PSP running. Unlike other boards that primarily focus on fundraising, PSP’s board of volunteers donate their time to help the theatre operate. If you love theatre and want to be a part of shaping PSP’s future, joining the Board is an amazing opportunity to learn more about how a theatre company operates.
What commitment is expected of Board Members?
Members are expected to attend our monthly board meeting, give input on operational decisions, and spend time working on their individual role’s objectives and goals.
Do Board Members have to attend meetings in person?
We are currently holding most meetings virtually and expect to continue to do so in the future. We may decide to hold occasional in-person meetings; however, a virtual option will likely continue to be available.
Do I need experience to join the Board?
Not at all! We are primarily looking for people who are passionate, motivated, and excited to learn. Many of our Board Members have never been on a board before and are learning about their roles as they go. Additionally, we are seeking Board Members with a strong commitment to antiracist theatre and upholding our DEI practices and policies.
While running for the Executive Board has traditionally required active Membership (by either being a season ticket holder, participating in a production, volunteering at the theatre, or donating at least $100 in the previous year), the current Board of Directors continues to waive this requirement in light of the extraordinary circumstances of the COVID-19 pandemic.
