Gypsy

Directed by Mark Drumm

February 16 to March 11, 2018

The 5th production of the 2017-2018 Season

Based on: The 1957 memoir Gypsy: Memoirs of America’s Most Celebrated Stripper by famous striptease artist Gypsy Rose Lee
Book by: Arthur Laurents
Music by: Jule Styne
Lyrics by: Stephen Sondheim

The ultimate tale of an ambitious stage mother fighting for her daughters’ success… while secretly yearning for her own. Set all across America in the 1920’s, when vaudeville was dying and burlesque was born, this landmark show explores the world of two-bit show business with artful humor, heart, and sophistication.

The musical features songs that have become standards of the musical theatre canon, including “Some People,” “Let Me Entertain You,” “Rose’s Turn,” and the show-stopping, “Everything’s Coming Up Roses”.
