Join Our Board or Play Selection Committee

PSP is looking for dedicated and dynamic individuals who would like to be a part of our journey into the future. We are specifically hoping to hear from rising leaders from diverse communities and identities who can help make PSP’s leadership more representative and inclusive. We welcome people from all backgrounds and experience levels.

Join PSP’s Executive Board

Why should I join PSP’s Board?

PSP is a fully volunteer-led organization, so we depend on generous individuals like yourself to keep PSP running. Unlike other boards that primarily focus on fundraising, PSP’s board of volunteers donate their time to help the theatre operate. If you love theatre and want to be a part of shaping PSP’s future, joining the Board is an amazing opportunity to learn more about how a theatre company operates.

What commitment is expected of Board Members?

Members are expected to attend our monthly board meeting and our DEI meetings that also occur roughly once per month. In between meetings, board members are expected to give input on operational decisions, and spend time working on their individual role’s objectives and goals.

Do Board Members have to attend meetings in person?

We are currently holding all meetings virtually and expect to continue to do so in the future. We may decide to hold quarterly in-person meetings, however a virtual option will likely continue to be available.

Do I need experience to join the Board?

Not at all! We are primarily looking for people who are passionate, motivated, and excited to learn. Many of our Board Members have never been on a board before and are learning about their roles as they go. Additionally, we are seeking Board Members with a strong commitment to antiracist theatre and upholding our DEI practices and policies.

Join PSP’s Play Selection Committee

Why should I join the Play Selection Committee?

If you’re passionate about plays and musicals, this committee is for you! Committee members help our Artistic Chair select our season of shows. You’ll pitch show ideas and propose a season lineup for the Board to vote on. This committee is an amazing opportunity to guide the theatre’s creative vision.

What commitment is expected of Committee Members?

Members are expected to attend a monthly meeting to discuss and plan the season proposal. They are also expected to read scripts and ensure show content upholds PSP’s commitment to antiracist theatre.

Do I need experience to join the Committee?

No experience needed! You just need a passion for theatre and the ability to read scripts.

Can I be on both the Board and the Play Selection Committee?

No, unfortunately you can only be a member of one or the other because the Board votes to approve the season proposed by the Play Selection Committee.
