“The Glass Menagerie” is a memory play narrated by Tom Wingfield, who recounts his life with his overbearing mother Amanda and his fragile sister Laura in St. Louis during the 1930s. The plot centers around Amanda’s desperate attempts to secure a gentleman caller for Laura.  A major conflict arises when Tom invites a coworker, Jim O’Connor, for dinner, and Laura pursues him.
